Hazel’s hospitality journey began after she completed her A-Levels and had a pre-industrial attachment in her homeland Zimbabwe. This led to her undertaking extensive training in Germany for the ensuing years. Her time there gave her a thorough grounding in Hotel Management which has served her well in her career as she brings confidence, quality, commitment and depth to the team. Her strengths include incisive strategic thinking, creative problem solving and an unmatched zeal for her work. On her return to Zimbabwe, Hazel’s first assignment was in one of Southern Africa’s finest properties – the renowned Victoria Falls Safari Lodge. Utilizing her strengths, she grew from Operations Manager to the position of Capacity Building Manager, coaching and mentoring dozens of chefs and hotel managers who are now making their mark on the hospitality world stage. During her time there, Hazel significantly contributed to the property’s growth to award winning status, making it the envy of industry peers both locally and internationally. This remarkable feat was achieved during a highly inflationary time in Zimbabwe’s economy. Her strength for building and establishing Restaurant & Hotel concepts, saw Hazel leading a team and establishing the famous Boma – The Place of Eating restaurant amongst her most noteworthy achievements.
Hazel has worked as a capacity builder for over 15 years under Africa Albida Tourism, a Southern African group whose operations are characterized by a tireless quest for quality in every aspect of product and service delivery.
